Meetings
Nancy, France, Feb 15-16, 2011 - kick-off meeting
The kick-off meeting had to be postponed for several months due to the delay in the payment of the first installment. Since the funding organization insisted on keeping the project starting and ending dates in spite of the delay, electronic communication and teleconferencing was used during the first 5 months for communication and in order to keep up with the scheduled project activities. The partners have agreed to keep the meetings' schedule as suggested in the proposal, and to move the "missed" kick-off meeting in Belgrade, Serbia (originally scheduled for Sep 2010) to a future date, when the project activities create a need for it.
The topics discussed during the meeting were:
- online presence & context-aware learning – general idea and state-of-the-art
- online presence & context-aware learning – ideas and scenarios for further development
- project management issues
- ideas worth implementing (brainstorming session)
- partners' responsibilities in each WP
- To-Do list for the next 3 months
A detailed Gantt chart with all the project activities was adopted by all partners.

- UNIM: summer semester; approx. 20 students;
- UHP: ask for preparing tutorial for students ;

3. Other scenarios for learning/recommendation: integration of Twitter (not yet done);
4. Responsibilities for the implementation: Facebook (TFC), Foursquare (UNIM , end of January 2012), Twitter; integration of existing Moodle msg systems into recommendation system (by using the same module (TFC);

Meetup “Online Presence for the PLEs” (05th of December, 12:30-17:30)
Two colleagues from the Social Learning group at the Graz University of Technology, Martin Ebner and Behnam Taraghi, joined us for this event to represent their PLE called “My TU Graz”: http://ple.tugraz.at/index.php/users/index?ref=wall
Afterwards, Zoran Jeremic (FOS) represented PLE developed at the FOS, called DEPTHS: http://learningdesignpatterns.org/depths/
The discussion was about the future steps planned to affect both PLEs. Sandra Schön (our third guest from SRFG, former e-Learning group) suggested the concept of ad-hoc networks (Open University the Netherlands). Behnam (Graz) suggested the Role project: http://role-showcase.eu/ - Role’s chat widgets and recommendation algorithms. Thus, UNIM presented their recommendation approach, while UHP presented recently published work onregression algorithms which are using Kalman filters to observe user behavior within a particular time (e.g. one day of use). University of Graz (Social Learning group) and the members of the OP4L project agreed to watch on each other’s activities and find a way to start real collaboration in the future.
